Aber 'Psychotic' Break - August 2004
1.
Some brief explanations of the above:
1. The view of Aber from the top of Constitution Hill
2. The same as above, but taken whilst on the Electric Train going up said Hill (hill my arse, more like a mountain!)
3. Same as 2. Note the 'typical' Aber weather - grey, wet and blustery
4. Shrewsbury Train Station - the town where Heatherbelles, Tobin and I were assaulted with dodgy muzak and melted cheese
5. View of Harlech, taken after Lemonbella, Heatherbelles, Diminuendo and I stumbled this spot walking from the wrong car park to the Castle
6. The Gatehouse, Harlech Castle. Place of Heatherbelles first encounter with one of many cold puddles
7. View from the Battlements of Harlech Castle. It had started to thunder by this point...
8. Same as 7. It had been raining from the moment we left the restaurant...
9. Ditto. Made the steps terribly slippery, could be dangerous in a battle and it would be rather humiliating to fall over mid-rampage
10. Aberystwyth Castle, taken by night in the rain. I probably shouldn't have been wandering alone around strange Castles at 10pm
11. View of Aber pier/coastline. The impressive lighting effect is due to the fact I stood too close to the lampost
12. Constitution Hill by night, actually looks far less grim.
13. Aber pier by night, I've managed to edit out most of the raindrops on my camera lens from this!
14. As above
15. Diminuendo in hysterics on the living room floor, possibly we'd just suggested Clark/Lex synchonised diving in speedos at that moment
16. All the group excpet me, photographed at Devil's Bridge. They'd had time to dry out at this point...
17. The Steam Train - wherein the joy of Dungarees and the horror of battery powered toy trains were discovered.
18. The other side of the same train, for the sake of balance
19. The Devil's AA Box - I only just got this taken and ran before a car went right over the spot I was stood on (after shouts of "Move it David Bailey" from Tobin)
20. Whilst Tobin and I escaped most of the horrific and uncharacteristically long downpour she did get attacked by a mini-bog, made an 'orrible sucking sound it did
21. The Devil's Cauldron. This was on the shorter walk that Tobin and took, dodging the rain and later eating cakes in the tea room.
22. Tobin at the start of the Devil's Falls. I suspect this was the last picture taken before the heavens opened.
23. Devil's Falls taken at a very odd diagonal angle for no apparent reason.
24. The Devil's Wok? Oh, another bit of the falls or something!
25. A really nice shot of the Devil's Bridge, I had to lean precariously over a safety barrier to get this. Somehow I didn't fall in (I think Tobin was a bit disappointed)
26. And more of the falls. They had a quaint little frilly old-lady tea room with terrible service there. The waitresses couldn't grasp the basic concepts of cultery and food delivery.
27. Diminuendo, Heatherbelles, Lemonbella, Tobin and Lizard outside St. Arvans on the final day.
