Ever get the feeling that people are laughing at you?  Welcome to my world.  At least with you there’s the faint chance that your just being paranoid. 

 

Not only was I a dork, I’m a lesser dork than most.  In fact, I can honestly only hope to achieve Dork status as I’m too pathetic even to be called such.  My brother, Tucker, now there was dork you could aspire to be.

 

Tucker was a geek, and he was very bitter about it.  How would you feel if no girl would even look sideways at you without collapsing into a fit of giggles or grimacing with disgust?

 

Each time this theory was reaffirmed he’d stumble home on autopilot, head hanging down as heavy as his heart.  I knew the tears would be there before he even lifted his face.  By this point we didn’t need to speak.  No “poor you”, no “she isn’t worth it”, such platitudes offered no comfort.  I was his only comfort and I let him take it all out on me.  First his sorrow and later his anger, with words and fists, with kisses and sweat. 

 

I would never laugh.  And he knew that I’d never say no.
