Buffy has nightmares about Allan Finch, and while the Mayor wonders if Finch was about to betray him, Wesley sets the girls investigating his murder.

The Mayor is cheered by the news that forensics point to a Slayer killer, and indeed Detective Stein interviews both girls. Buffy visits Willow, who is feeling left out of the Slayer thing, but Buffy breaks down and tells her everything. She then tells Giles, but Faith has already told him Buffy did it. Luckily, he didn’t believe her. They all try to work out how to help Faith get through this, but Wesley overhears and calls the Council. Xander insists he should try, they don’t understand why until they realise he slept with her. He tries to talk to Faith but she tries to kill him - Angel whacks her with a baseball bat. He chains her up in the mansion, and is just getting through to her when Wes and some cronies bust in and takes her away. She easily breaks out of their van. Buffy searches and finds her on the docks, where she saves her from a falling crate - Mr Trick and vamp friends attack the Slayers. He very nearly kills Buffy, but Faith saves her. Buffy holds out hope for her, but Faith applies for Trick’s job with the Mayor...

Review:
The episode in which Faith finally turns to the dark side, so to speak. The father/daughter relationship that has developed between Buffy and Giles will soon be mirrored in Faith and Mayor Wilkins. Buffy has arguably faced more than her fair share of betrayal and pain in her life, yet hasn’t followed Faiths path. There’s also a minor sub-plot involving a blossoming romance between Wesley and Cordelia, which will continue in the background for a while.

Best line: Faith: “We don’t need the law - we are the law.”

Bloopers: Have you heard anything interesting? email us

Trivia: Willow is still trying to de-rat poor old Amy.

Pop culture reference: “Check out Giles: The Next Generation.” (Cordelia.)
