Buffy reluctantly joins Willow, Oz and Xander at a Halloween party, where - surprise - things start to go horribly wrong.

A fear demon, Gachnar, is causing everyone's worst fears to become reality: Xander (who feels left out of college life) turns invisible, Oz turns into a werewolf without needing a full (or partially full) moon, and an insecure Buffy, still hurting after Parker's behaviour, thinks the invisible Xander has bailed on her. Giles arrives (with a chainsaw!), and with his help the gang discover that the demon is only six inches tall. So Buffy squishes him.

Review:
Those who have seen "Nightmares", "Halloween", and "Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind" will get definite feelings of deja vu, but despite this it's a strong episode with plenty of laughs and a good ensemble performance.

Best line: Buffy: “I was just thinking about the life of a pumpkin. Grow up in the sun, happily entwined with others, and then someone comes along, cuts you open, and rips your guts out.”
