Buffy
is getting ever more friendly with Parker as Willow discovers Harmony is now a
vampire (and shacking up with Spike!), and Anya just can't seem to get Xander
from her mind. Spike and Harmony crash a party and bump into Buffy and Parker,
and before the vamps escape, Harmony lets slip that Spike is seeking the Gem of
Amara, an artefact that renders vampires unkillable. Buffy and Parker have sex,
as do Xander and the no-nonsense Anya (who inexplicably hopes it'll stop her
wanting him) - Spike and Harmony are not quite such a good match. Spike finally
digs the gem up, discovering it's effectiveness when he stakes Harmony out of
irritation and she doesn't dust. He approaches Buffy (during the day, outside!)
who is feeling confused over Parker's sudden lack of interest, and they fight.
Buffy manages to get the gem off him, and he escapes. Buffy sends the gem to
Angel in LA via Oz, and the final scene has Buffy, Anya and Harmony
independently wandering the park with relationship confusions...
Review:
What would Buffy be without Spike? A darn sight less entertaining, that's for
sure. He makes a welcome return, as does Anya. She's just as brutally frank as
Cordelia was, but used in a more comic capacity instead.
Best line:
Harmony: "I don't have a pulse! Cool!"

Trivia:
Giles is cool after all! Oz discovers he has a very respectable vinyl
collection, and Xander even finds a TV at his place. Good grief!
Apparently Dru left Spike for a Fungus demon, not a Chaos demon as previously
suggested (Lover's Walk, season three). On the other hand, maybe she left him
twice. The harlot.
This episode was a crossover with Angel, episode three season one (In The Dark)
- which was shown immediately after Bufffy in the States.
