NB.  I have pieced this episode summary together from three separate summaries at three separate locations - this means three very different writing styles but they’re better than nothing!

Cartoons are on the TV at Summers house.  Dawn & Tara fell asleep.  What time is it?  Almost 7:00 a.m. Just closed their eyes for a minute. Tara wonders why nobody woke them.  Where is everyone?  Checking rooms.  Nobody here.  Willow didn’t come home either.  They were out all night.  Tara says, “I’m sure they are fine.  They just lost track of time.”

In the rubble of the ruined building, we see feet.  Pan up past the debris, and suddenly Buffy sits up with a gasp, clutching her leather skirt to her chest.  She looks around her, a little frightened, a little appalled.  Beside her, Spike stirs.  She leaps up.  Looks around at the destruct-o-rama.

"When...” She looks close to panic.  "When did the building fall down?"  She's scratched and bruised, maybe from falling through the floor, and...maybe not.  I'm guessing NOT.  <G>

Spike takes in the destruction, gives her a grin.  We see a bruise on his jaw, one on his chest, other scratches.  "I don't know," he says.  "Must have been some time between the first time and the..."  He makes a noise in his throat, remembering.

She realizes what he's talking about.  "Oh," she says, and then it really hits her.  "Oh, my God," she whines.

Buffy's dressed, mostly, except for...  "Shoe.  I need my shoe," she says, looking for it.

"What's the hurry, love?"  He's still stretched out on the floor, one arm behind his head, and he's almost purring, his voice deeper than usual.

But she's not having any.  "The hurry is I left Dawn all night," she says.  "And don't call me 'love.'"

He gives her a knowing smile.  "You didn't seem to take issue with that last night," he says, stretching.   "Or with any of the other little nasties we whispered."

She cuts him off.  "Can we not.  Talk," she spits at him, , finding her shoe and putting it on.

"I just don't see why you have to run off so quick," he says, a hair away from wheedling.  "I thought we could..."  He lifts an eyebrow, suggestively.

"Not gonna happen," she says.  "Last night was the end of this freak show."  She starts to walk past him.  He catches her, pulls her down into his lap.

"=Don't= say that," he says, stung.

"What did you think was gonna happen?" she says, "We were gonna read the newspaper together?"  From his expression, that thought had crossed his mind.  She goes on:  "Play footsie under the rubble?"

He reaches under her skirt. "Not exactly what I had in mind," he says, as his fingers work and  her eyes close.  For a second she lets him, then she shoves at him.

"Stop!"

"Make me," he dares her.

"No," she says, and grabs him, kisses him.  He pulls her closer, kissing her back, but after a moment she pushes away.  "No," she says, not sounding terribly convinced, "No.  I...I have to..."

"Stay," he says, breathless, wanting to kiss her again.  "I'm stuck here.  Sun's up."  She hesitates, and he leans in, kisses her hard. She moans, pulls him down on top of her.  He kisses her, moves to her neck.  The side where her bite scars are.  When he puts his mouth on the scar, she moans again.  More kissing.  He pulls back, panting. "I knew," he says, exultant, "I knew the only thing better than killing a Slayer would be f..."

She pushes him away, hard, not letting him get the word out. "What?!"   She jumps up, scrambling to get away from him.  "Is that what this is about?  Doing a Slayer?"  SO not happy with that...

He laughs.  "I wouldn't throw stones, Pet.  You seem to be quite the groupie yourelf."

"Shut up!"  She spits, wipes her mouth on the back of her hand.

"I'm just saying," he goes on, "vampires get you hot."

"=A= vampire got me hot," she says.  "One!  But he's gone.  You're just..."   She casts about for something to say, something that will hurt.  "You're just...convenient."  Her voice breaks on the last word.  She stands there, looking down at him, holding back tears.

He looks at her.  Does she really believe that's what it was?  He huffs out a small "oh" of disbelief.  She continues to stare.  He gets up, finds his pants.  She averts her eyes as he puts them on.

"So," he spits, doing up the zipper.  "What now?  You go back to treating me like dirt until the next time you've got an itch you can't scratch?"  He's scornful, angry.  "Well, forget it!  Last night =changed= things."  He does up his belt, being rather more forceful than necessary.  "I'm done being your whipping boy."

"Nothing's changed," she says, desperate to believe it.  "It was a mistake."

"Bollocks!"  There's hurt showing underneath the anger.  "It was a bloody revelation."  He advances on her, that hipshot, slouchy stalk. "Now, you can act as high and mighty as you like," he says, and then, his voice softening, "but I know where you live now, Slayer.  I've tasted it."  He leans in, and she backs up.

"Get a grip," she says.  "Like you're God's gift."

He laughs.  "Hardly," he says, biting his lower lip.  "It wouldn't be nearly as interesting, now would it?"  He leans in again; she pushes him away, slips past him.  He cuts her off.

"No!" she says, "Let me go."

He reaches out, locks his fisted hands behind her head, holding her there.  "I may be dirt," he says, the anger coming back, "but you're the one who likes to roll in it, Slayer.  You never had it so good as me, never."

She breaks his grip, steps away.  "You're bent," she snaps.

"Yeah," he says, just shy of a sneer.  "And it made you scream, didn't it?"

"I swear to GOD," she says, furious, "if you tell =anyone= about last night, I =will= kill you."

He just looks at her.  She's sooooo full of it...  "Right," he says, pretending to be convinced, and reaches into his hip pocket.  He pulls out her very skimpy panties, holding them up so she can see. "You gonna want these, too?"

She punches him in the nose, snatches the drawers, and stalks off.

Tara making pancakes. Dawn: “Should we call Xander?”  Talking about ditches – could Buffy be in a ditch somewhere?  Ditches are bad, their mother always said so. There are no ditches, Tara assures her.  We’ll call Xander but give them time to get up, etc.  Willow comes in with Amy.  Amy is going on about Willow.  Willow is freaking amazing witch now.  Amy couldn’t keep up with her.  Amy: “Sorry, I’m talking too much.”  Willow is uncomfortable.  Tara is obviously disappointed.

Buffy comes in.  Questions: Where were you?  Are you ok?
Buffy “I’m fine.”
Dawn: “You’re sore and limpy.”
Buffy: “Had a fight. All nighter.”
Dawn: “Should we be worried.”
Buffy: “No I think you guys are safe.”

Buffy learns that Tara stayed with Dawn. Willow & Amy were out all night too - lost track of time. Buffy feels guilty.
To Dawn: “Are you ok?” Dawn: “Yeah pancakes are burning though.” Tara was with her.  Willow has gotta get some sleep and Amy’s going home now. Buffy to Dawn: “I’m sorry. Beat from monsterizing all night.”.  Willow & Buff will crash. Dawn says - no prob. Just find some awake people.

Willow in her room tries to close blind magically, but it doesn’t work.  She’s drained from using too much magic and has to close them by hand. She goes to sleep

Xander is at The Magic Box, looking through books still.  He says demons starting to look alike, they all look like reptiles, but Anya’s not listening to him. They can’t find diamond-stealing demon.  Buffy is there.  Anya is distracted by wedding plans.  She is wondering if she should have her bridesmaids wear traditional burlap & larva.  Huh?  Hey, she was a demon for 1000 years, can’t expect her to turn her back on her culture entirely…

Xander says, we are getting nowhere. Maybe they should hit the streets.  Get Spike on it.  Buffy, “No, not hit the streets, no Spike.  No distractions.”  What about Willow?  Buffy informs them, Wills is home sleeping.  Xander wants to know if she’s sick.  Buffy says, “No out all night.”  Xander is again concerned. She now has a playmate to do magic with. Someone who won’t monitor her like Tara did.  He sees this getting out of control. Buffy refuses to see it, or is making excuses rather (because she can see a parallel between her behaviour and Willows?).  She says Willow is an adult, doesn’t need to be monitored.  Maybe Willow had reasons for acting this way. We all do stuff.  We learn.  We learn & don’t do it again... who are we to judge? Xander says, they are not judging - just concerned.

Amy and Willow later that night walking down street. What do you want to do? Hard to top last night. Willow says was too much last night. Took all day to get power back. Amy knows a fellow who knows spells that last for days. Willow is not sure………. “Is it dangerous?” Amy:, “Will that stop you?”

Willow and Amy in an alley (damn allies!) There is nothing there but Amy says, “He’s here... Feel the air.. It’s hot. She tells Willow to follow her.  They disappear into some cloaked/invisible area.  Amy, “Cool isn’t it?”  Place is cloaked.  Moves around a lot.
People sitting there - look like junkies. Guy says, “My turn.” Girl snaps, “No it’s my turn. I’ve been here for hours. Jack (bad guy) comes in. “I believe these two are next.” - Willow & Amy.

Amy talking to Rack. It’s been awhile.  She says, “You wouldn’t believe….” He says, “You were a rat.” “How did you know?” “I warned you long ago about spells you can’t handle.”

Willow seems nervous. Tells him she gets tapped out. Rack: “What do you want to do about it?” I don’t know. Amy said he could help. What’s in it for him? Will says she could help with his computer - she’s handy. He says, “Relax I’m not going to hurt you. Gotta give a little to get a little” Puts his and on her chest. Is looking (touring) her soul? Mind?

She seems drugged. Likes it. He whispers in her ear that she tastes like strawberries. We see Amy spinning like she is on drugs. Willow is on the ceiling. Looking drugged also.

Sees green below her. Trees, moving.... weird stuff. Suddenly sees demon. Screams - Falls from ceiling. Now seems to be outside. Time/space moving around her. Her eyes are black. But in reality is still on floor. Now she’s back home. We see her in shower. Upset. Crying. She is walking into her room in a robe. Seems sad. Going through a box of Tara’s stuff. Has Tara’s dress. Lays on bed. Runs her hand over (above) it . It fills up with air, takes form of Tara but is empty. It sits up…hugs her. Awww

Evening:
Dawn burning herself cooking. Making banana peanut butter Quesadias. For some reason won’t use a spatula feels they are for wimps…… (alllll righty then). Willow enters kitchen – doesn’t want any - stomach doesn’t feel very good. Dawn tells her Buffy was going to patrol after leaving the Magic Box. Hs check in 10 times today. Everyone sorry they didn’t come home last night. It’s OK….. but you will be home tonight? Of course she will, Willow says. “We can do something if you want.” “Really?” Willow will even buy dinner of Dawn can resiste the banana peanut creation……… This will be great. Going out. Dawn says something about leaving her concoction for Buffy. Says something aobut Buffy being a pig after she kills things.

Buffy entering her empty house. “Hello?” Looking around house. Nobody’s home. Then again……someone is creeping around. It’s Amy. Buffy wants to know what’s going on. Amy seems a bit disoriented. Taking something. Spices....? Buffy asks again: “What is going on? Where are Willow and Dawn?” Amy is stalling… disoriented, looks queasy. She says, “Like your coat.” Buffy, “What is gong on. What else did you take.” Amy, “Nothing.” “What else?” Buffy understands. Kitchen spices = spell. Amy says something like… “She’s a Rexite now. He does heavy stuff. Place moves.” Buffy wants to know how to find it. Amy tells her, you have to feel it out. Hidden. Amy is gong to hurl. Buffy let’s her go.

Will & Dawn walking down street. Willow wants to know if her burger was good. “Yeah,” says Dawn, “was like a meat party in my mouth.. Ha! I’m a kid but even I know that came out wrong.” Tells Willow, “You should have something.” But Wills says she’s saving room for popcorn. She is pumping Dawn for info….Had fun with Tara the other day? Yeah. Was nice. Dawn tells her but Tara is sad. Willow wants to know: “Did she say something?” Dawn informs her, no but you can tell. Dawn asks Willow if she’s sure she’s OK. Willow is fine. (Sure….sure) So, (talking about Tara again) Tara’s in new place. All settled? Dawn says they didn’t get into . Dawn suddenly realizes they are in an unfamiliar alley (!) and not near the cinema. Is this the way to the movies? Wills says, “Have to make one quick stop first.” They go into Rack’s hide-out. Dawn wants to know: “What is this place and why is it hidden? Willow says she won’t be long. “Hang here for a minute.” What about the movie – it starts at nine.” Willow, “I’lll just be a minute. We’ll make it, might miss trailers, that’s all.” Walks away, Dawn says to herself, “I like the trailers.” Looks around uncomfortably. Willow has gone to Rack

Dawn waiting for Willow. Uncomfortable. Wierd guy sits beside her. She gets up. She is obviously scared. We see Rack talking to Willow, “What do you think strawberry.. can you handle more?” He is doing it again. Willow is floating. Stars... outerspace. Peaceful, floating in space……….the demon comes back again. This time carrying a dead woman’s body. (Willow? Dawn? Not sure.)

Waking him up at his crypt:
Spike is asleep in the bed, bare-chested, the sheet over his lower half.  Suddenly a large white candle lands on his stomach, and he
starts upright with a gasp.

Buffy is standing there, putting a red candle back onto a table. "God, do you sleep through anything?" she says.  "I was, like,
yelling, and...nothing."  She sounds the teeniest bit defensive, as though what she'd really been doing was watching him sleep.

"I'm a bit knackered," he says, giving her a lascivious grin. "Had a long night."  He sits up, pushes off the sheet, obviously naked under
there. "Someone should teach you how to use candles in foreplay, love."  His pants come flying at his head.

"Get dressed," she says, wasting no time.  "Dawn's missing."

"Again?"  He shakes his head.  "Ever think about a lojack for the girl?"  He tosses the pants aside, sighs. "What's the story?

"She went out with Willow."  Okay, that didn't sound so lame in her head...

Spike grins.  "Willow?"  he says.  Well, well. "It's kind of  a sorry excuse to come by. You want the touch, all you need to do..."

Buffy cuts him off.  "Spike.  Willow's into something, okay, her and Dawn have been missing for hours. There's some guy named Rack--"

Spike is all attention, now.  "Rack?"

"Yeah, he's some sort of--"

He doesn't let her finish.  "I know who he is. He deals in magic--black stuff. Dangerous."  He's starting to look a little
worried.

Buffy's worried, too.  "I've been all over downtown," she says,  "and I can't find his place."

"Because he cloaks it," Spike says.  "You can't feel it unless you're into the big bad-- A witch or a vampire..."  This is so not good...

"So let's go," Buffy says.  He doesn't quibble, just gets up to put on his pants.  She turns away, averting her eyes.

"Oh, that's right," he says, a little peeved.  She didn't mind looking before...  "Hide your blushing eyes."

Buffy and Spike are walking down the dark streets, looking for Rack's place.  "Anything?" she asks.

"Not yet," he says, starting to get exasperated.  "I might pick up on it if you stopped asking me about every 2 seconds..."

"Spike, if you're dragging this out..."

"What?" he says, stopping,  "So I can linger near your precious self? Get a grip."

She gives him a Look.  "Like you've never drawn things out before."

Okay, she's got him on that one.  "Maybe," he admits, "but we've been through this, haven't we? Things have changed."  Hello, remember last
night?

So don't want to go there...  "Will you quit that?" she says, obviously not for the first time.  "The only thing that's different
is that I'm disgusted with myself. That's the power of your charms. Last night...," she searches again for the wounding words, "was the
most perverse, degrading experience of my life."

But they backfire.  "Yeah," he says, smiling, biting the bottom lip, happy in the memory, "me too."  He walks past her.

She hurries to catch up.  "That might be how you get off, but it's not my style," she says.

"No," he says, amazed at her.  "It's your calling. Gave me a run for my money, Slayer."  He looks down at his boots, not quite sure he
wants to give her ammunition.  "Now, I admit it, you've had me by the short hairs," he says.  "I love you; you know it. But I got my rocks
back. You =felt= something last night."

"Not love," she says,  not mean about it, just making sure he knows.

He does.  "Not yet," he says, "But I'm in your system now, you're gonna crave me like I crave blood, and the next time you come
calling, if you don't stop being such a bitch, maybe I =will= bite you."

Oh, that is the outside of enough.  Eye-roll.  "That's it," she says, "I want you out of my life, out of my work, out of my home..."

"Too late for that," he says.  "You invited me in already."  He doesn't mean just into her home... "And as for your work, you =need=
me...like tonight."

"I'll find Dawn myself," she says, determined not to need him for anything.

He makes a frustrated face.  Is she =listening= to herself? "You really gonna put your little sis in danger just to spite me?"

And of course, she won't.

Dawn and Willow still on street. Looks suspiciously like an alley to me……;)

Dawn wants to go home. Willow will pop her back home with magic. They are still being followed. Demon jumps out at them. Says Willow summoned him - with magic. He scratches Dawn. Willow says, “It was me! Not her.” Dawn kicks him and he flies into the air. They run away. He’s too fast, they can’t outrun him. Willow uses magic to start a car. They are driving away and Willow is laughing…..pleased with herself that she outsmarted the demon. (!?) Dawn is scared. Demon chasing them. They crash.

Car mangled. Dawn crawls out. Willow is still in the car. Dawn is going to Willow’s side of car to check on her when Demon jumps out. Attacks her. She crawls under car. He’s pulling her out. Fight – he throws her down……you guessed it – an alley.

Demon is going for Dawn – Buffy! Kicks crap out of Demon. Spike helps Dawn. Demon is getting the upper hand. Suddenly he starts shaking... (Buffy says, “It’s about time you got scared.” ha ha!) Demon turns to dust.... ????

Willows eyes are still black...Buffy is mad.

Dawn is stuttering: “Was after Willow. Willow made car go.”
Buffy asks, “Are you ok?”
Dawn, Oh God blood… (Dawn’s head is bleeding.)
Willow asks, “Is she OK?”
They need to get her to a doctor.
Buffy tells Willow, “Stay away from her.”
Willow, ”Dawny….. so sorry soo sooo sorry.”
Buffy, “Stay away from her.”
They are helping Dawn up, taking her to hospital. Willow is pleading…….
Dawn slaps her in face.
Willow, “Sorry sorry sorry.”
Spike and Buff take Dawn away.
Willow, “Sorry sorry.” Crying.

Spike is with Dawn. Buffy comes back to Willow. Says get up. Willow screwed up everything. Could have killed her. You almost did. Willow says, I know. I can’t stop. I tried and can’t. I can’t. Buffy says, “You can.” Willow is begging her… “I need help. Please help me!” Buffy is hugging her.

Willow sitting on bed wrapped in blanket. Eyes closed. Buffy comes into room. Willow wants to know if Dawn is OK. Buffy tells her she’s sleeping pain medication knocked her out. She’s going to be all right. Has a fracture. Will take some time. Willow again says she’s sorry.
Buffy says she doesn’t understand. Why go see someone like that? Why drag Dawn there with you? Willow was under his control (or something like that). She is out of control, started before Tara left. Admits it’s why Tara left.

Says she is plain, felt like SuperWillow. Buffy says, there is nothing wrong with who she is. And she doesn’t need magic to be special Willow says, “Who was I? Just some girl.” Buffy says, More than some girl. She tells her that Tara loves her. Willow says the magic, “took me away from myself – I felt free.” Buffy says, “I get that, but it’s wrong.” People get hurt. Willow says if something had happened to Dawn tonight - something worse…… Buffy says, “I know.”
Willow says, “I don’t’ think you do…. I was out of my mind …..did things……. won’t happen again, promise. No more spells - finished.”

Buffy says good. Buffy thinks its right to give up no matter how good it feels. (Exactly who are we talking about here……….)
Willow says the magic wasn’t all great – gave her headaches. “Well, there you go,” says Buffy.
Willow says, it’s over. Exactly, says Buffy, it’s over.

Willow, alone in her bed, is going through withdrawal

The last scene, in Buffy's bedroom.  Garlic hangs in the windows. The lights are off, and Buffy, fully clothed, is sitting on the bed,
holding a cross.  She wraps her arms around her knees, looks around the room, listening for a sound that doesn't come...
